yukigassen
Yukigassen is a unique sport that involves snowball fighting. The Japanese term literally translates to snow fight. The sport was developed in Japan and is currently played in Australia, Canada and many European countries. Yukigassen is a team sport played between two teams with seven players on each team. The game is played outdoors on a specially designed field with an ice surface. The field consists of several small barriers in the form of a wall behind which the players protect themselves from blows. Players wear helmets and full winter clothing to play the sport.
Two flags, one for each team placed on the opposite side, are used as part of the game. For a match, each team can use 90 snowballs.
