Blue Yeti X Review

The Blue Yeti X boasts a sturdy, yet incredibly small design that makes it both conventional and cutting-edge. It is a stylish condenser microphone that would complete the aesthetic of many streamers’ setups.

In this article, we will talk about the Blue Yeti X. In order to provide the highest audio quality for our listeners, we have upgraded from utilizing merely the iPhone apps, voice recorder to a professional USB microphone over the previous couple of years as we transitioned from being a podcast guest to a podcast show presenter. Over the course of this time, we have tested and utilized a number of podcast microphones and have been pleased with both their audio quality and usability. The new Blue Yeti X, on the other hand, elevates this by giving developers greater controls.

The Blue Yeti X boasts a sturdy, yet incredibly small design that makes it both conventional and cutting-edge. The beauty of the design is in the clever knob that allows you to change many functions including gain and speaker level using a single dial with LED indicators, even though the microphone stands tall on its base making it ideal for usage on top of a table. Streaming microphone can see their audio quality in real time thanks to the LED lights. The front button makes it simple to change modes. To connect to my iMac for my recordings, we used a USB-C cable.

The Blue Yeti X, the flagship of the range, offers superb audio and cutting-edge software to get exactly what you need without third-party plugins. You’ll undoubtedly recognize it in many of your favorite streamer videos because Twitch and YouTube stars love it so much. Given the high price, does it offer enough to entice aspiring podcasters and streamers? We think the answer is yes, but it also depends on what you want to get out of it.

Design

Undoubtedly, the Blue Yeti X is a stylish condenser microphone that would complete the aesthetic of many streamers’ setups. The Yeti X is thinner and more upscale overall than the original Yeti, having a new two-tone design with a black body and shining silver accents on the microphone grille and base. The Yeti X will take up some room on your desk because it is larger than the similarly named Yeti Nano, but you have the choice to remove it from the weighted base and attach it to a movable mic arm if you so choose.

This functionality is provided via a 5/8in thread at the bottom of the microphone, but we’ve also had experience utilizing the smaller side-mounted holes. Instead of the physical knob on the original, the Yeti X has a single button for changing recording patterns, and it uses LED indications to show you which mode you are currently in. It’s a stylish improvement that maintains the premium style, but this time around, switching between recording settings requires gazing at the mic’s back.

Sound Quality

Behind the shiny metallic microphone mesh is a condenser array with four capsules, more than the original’s three and significantly more than the Yeti Nano’s two, which means the Yeti X records great sound. On many Fast Charge live streams, we’ve found that our voice is loud, clear, and distinct when recording with Audacity and using the Yeti X as the microphone.

The presets in the voice software for PC improve this even more. Our Discord multiplayer friends are also thrilled. Several of them commented on how crystal clear my microphone sounded during sessions of Call of Duty.” Warzone, and No Man’s Sky.

Performance

The Yeti X has a frequency range of 20Hz to 20kHz and can record sounds at up to 48kHz/24-bit. The inbuilt headphone amplifier also operates inside this frequency range. The microphone was immediately identified by Garageband, and we were able to start recording right away. It’s crucial to use the gain knob to achieve a stable clean level because there is no DSP. This is made easier by the LED indicator, but it is important to rely on your hearing and not your eyes, as it is possible to overload the microphone capsules. Having said that, we discovered that getting a crisp, clear signal was simple enough in all four patterns.

The Yeti X uses internal dampening to reduce plosives to a minimum. The Yeti X doesn’t come equipped with a pop filter, so some users may still choose to use one, which is never a bad idea. That is unfortunate given that the majority of the competition does, but the Yeti X’s grille and interior foam combination perform admirably on their own.

It picks up a lot of background noise, including the click-clack of my keyboard and mouse, and occasionally even the fan noise of our gaming laptop. If anything, it’s a bit too excellent. Of course, this can be reduced with proper recording techniques and the advanced features of the VO!CE software, but it won’t work perfectly for all settings right away.

Price

The Blue Yeti X is a competent USB microphone that’s perfect for podcasting, streaming, and pretty much anything else you need a microphone for. The Yeti X costs £159.99/$169.99 for the regular version and £189.99/$199.99 for those who want the World of Warcraft edition, while the Yeti Nano is aimed at the low-cost market.

That’s significantly more expensive than products like the Trust Gaming Fyru and the HyperX SoloCast. So be sure to take advantage of the extra recording modes and software features that are unique to the Yeti X, or you might save some money. Final Words

We hope you understand this article on Blue Yeti X. The lockdown effects of the coronavirus have caused a sudden rise in demand for electronic products. Monitors, cameras, and headphones suddenly become necessary expenditures for remote workers. A good microphone should be included on your list; your friends and family will undoubtedly appreciate you for it. It’s likely unless you’re recording for playback.

The groans and complains of the individuals on the other end of the webcam or VOIP connection are your only indication of the effectiveness of your communications. However, investing in a high-quality microphone like the Blue Yeti X is a versatile move. Creating Twitch channels, podcasts, and recording that future number-one song are all made possible by recording excellent audio.
