The Logitech G PRO X 2 Lightspeed does everything you’d expect from a headset that comes after two very good ones. It combines the best parts of the Logitech G PRO X and the Logitech G PRO X Wireless into a single product and adds to that by making smart changes and improvements. This is basically a wireless gaming headset with more features than the Logitech G PRO X’s wired features. It also now has graphene drivers, which may be important from a material standpoint, but you might not be able to tell the difference just by listening.

The hinges on the headphones are probably the most noticeable of the few small changes that can be seen on the headset. It’s still mostly made of metal, but now the headband has an extra hinge right above each ear cup. This means you can turn each ear cup separately to better fit the shape of your head, or you can turn the whole thing to lay flat on a desk or around your neck. This simple change makes the Logitech G PRO X 2 Lightspeed much more comfortable to wear, and we have no trouble using it for a full day.

The G PRO X 2 comes with two sets of ear pads. One set is made of soft leatherette, and the other set is made of velour. Both are comfortable for me, but this is a plus if you’ve ever had trouble with leatherette getting too hot or if you need a material that works better with glasses. Even if you don’t care about the material, ear pads wear out over time, so having extras is a good idea.

The Logitech G Pro X 2 headset is made with soft foam earpads and a material that looks like leather for the inside. This makes it very comfortable for long sessions. The best compliment you can give a headset is that you forget you’re wearing it, and for the most part, that was true. Overall, the headset is comfortable because it has soft foam padding and a flexible headband. This lets the headset rest around my ears without pressing on my head One thing to keep in mind is that the default leather-like earpad covers can get sweaty after a few hours.

So, even though the headset was comfortable, we had to take it off for a while to let my head breathe. Because of this, we like the velvety and breathable feel of my Sennheiser HD 599 headphones, which have velour upholstery. And thankfully, the Pro X 2 comes with velour-style earpads that can be switched out. Since the earpads on the headset are held in place by an elastic band that wraps around each earcup, all you have to do is pull the old ones out and put the new ones in while making sure the elastic band is tight around the grooves on the headset.

Some other important features include the padding around the headband, which is made of the same foam padding and leather-like material as the earcups. This helps relieve pressure on your head. As mentioned above, the Pro X 2 is different from its predecessors in that the earcups can be turned. The seal the headset makes around my ears also feels more natural and lets it put pressure on my head in a more even way.

Buttons and connectivity

Considering how expensive this headset is, the fact that you can use it with PCs, consoles, and even phones is a huge plus. we listened to music on it with my iPhone over Bluetooth, my Xbox over a 3.5mm cable, and my gaming PC wirelessly through Lightspeed connectivity.

You can use buttons on the bottom of the left earcup to control the headset. If the headphones are paired, a small LED light on the power slider will illuminate. In addition, there is a switch for the microphone, a mute button, and a volume wheel that resembles the middle scroll wheel on a mouse. A Bluetooth pairing button and a USB-C port that can only be used for charging are also present. Under that is where the mic port will be. On the other hand, the right ear cuff only has the 3.5mm aux jack.

we do like how easy and simple these buttons are to use. Even the scroll wheel for the volume is easier to use than the dials on other headsets like the BlackShark V2 Pro. It’s also easy to pair. You’ll use Logitech’s own G Hub to change the Pro X 2 Lightspeed. You can do a lot of things here, like choose those microphone settings we told you about. But you can change the sound by turning on DTS Headphone X 2.0 and choosing from the different EQ presets. The default setting is Flat, but you can also choose Communications to bring out the voices, FPS to focus on things like footsteps, Bass Boost to hear explosions, and MOBA to hear warning pings in games like League of Legends. All of this is very cool, but we ended up using the Flat mode for games and the Bass Boost mode for music. Both make listening to sound enjoyable.

Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed: Battery Life

Logitech says that when you connect the G PRO X 2 Lightspeed to a computer using the USB dongle, it will last up to 50 hours before you need to charge it. However, when we tested it, we found that it lasts more than 50% longer than that. When real music was played at 75dB (SPL) at its loudest, the headset lasted 88 hours and 27 minutes. Even though this result isn’t quite as good as industry leaders like the HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless or the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro or SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless, it’s still better than pretty much everything else. You probably won’t have to charge it for more than a week (maybe two, depending on how much you play), which is very impressive.

Price and availability

Logitech.com sells the Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed in black or white for $250 right now. It is the successor to the first Pro X Wireless, which costs $230 now. The latest BlackShark V2 Pro, which costs $200 and has a better microphone, and the HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless, which also costs $200, are both examples of high-end esports headsets with prices like these.
